I Wish Someone Would Have Told Me That 20 Years Ago

Post Title 27th April 21

Happy Tuesday, all of you lovely people. Does your week rock? I hope so and if not that you find all the support you need.

Last week I got a little into my procrastinating mind. I had hoped so much, I was over that. For a long time, I managed to just get on with my tasks and goals, but last week my inner critic got the upper hand and hit hard.

All the unhelpful thinking loops that bother me for years turned up out of nowhere: “Your writing is sh..”, “You tried before, you can’t keep this up” and “How dare you to try to inspire others? You have no training whatsoever, only what life taught you!” I think that last one might have been the worst. Maybe it was not procrastination but a bad case of imposter syndrome.

How did I get over it? Well, I am not sure I am over it. I just keep trying. Something that helps me though is reading or listening to inspirational people. While searching, I stumbled over these words from Carla Harris, the woman who conquered Wall Street. I wish someone would have told me that 20 years ago:
